Robert Eggers is juggling 5 potential next projects; “The Knight”, a western or Rasputin series.
Eggers’ “Nosferatu” has been getting critical acclaim and is widely believed to be a very excellent film. The film releases on Wednesday. In a recent interview with IndieWire, Eggers talked about his next projects. He said he has five projects ready to go. He has completed his script for the medieval epic “The Knight”, which was delayed twice already, and he also talked about preparing a western.
“I have five things going on, because you never know what’s going to work, what’s going to appeal to people, what’s going to be greenlit. [Nosferatu] was not greenlit three times. I absolutely thought I was making a movie that has not gotten greenlit twice instead of this, so you never know. You’ve got to have a lot of stuff going on.”
Eggers also talked about his Rasputin mini-series, which had originally been greenlit for production in 2017, but was them suddenly nixed soon after. Eggers still wants to make that one: “What’s not to love about Rasputin?”
