Jared Leto in final talks to join Barry Levinson’s JFK thriller “Assassination”.

(via Deadline) Oscar winner Jared Leto is close to boarding Barry Levinson’s starry ensemble in the David Mamet co-scripted “Assassination”. Leto is close to finalizing a deal according to Deadline. He will join the already announced Al Pacino, Jessica Chastain, Brendan Fraser and Bryan Cranston.

The murder mystery centers around crime reporter Dorothy Kilgallen played by Chastain. when she suspects that Lee Harvey Oswald did not act alone, she uses her fame and influence to find President John F. Kennedy’s real killer. She will encounter FBI, mafia bosses and the CIA on her journey to find the truth.

Levinson and Sam Bromell co-wrote the screenplay with Mamet.

Jared Leto will be next seen in the upcoming Disney reboot “Tron: Ares” on October 10, 2025.
