Zach Galifianakis, Daniel Bruhl, Catherine Zeta Jones, Sterling K. Brown and Da’vine Joy Randolph join Cathy Yan’s “The Gallerist”.

Natalie Portman and Jenna Ortega were already part of Cathy Yan’s buzzy new film ‘The Gallerist’. Now multiple trades are reporting that Zach Galifianakis (The Hangover), Daniel Bruhl (The Inglorious Basterds), Catherine Zeta Jones (Ocean’s Twelve), Sterling K. Brown (American Fiction) and Da’vine Joy Randolph (The Holdovers) were added to round out the cast.

Yan will direct the film and co-wrote the screenplay with James Pederson. Production on ‘The Gallerist’ will begin next month in France.

Plot details are under wraps, but Deadline previously reported that the film would focus on a desperate gallerist who conspires to sell a dead guy at Art Basel Miami.

Cathy Yan’s debut was 2018 Sundance indie “Dead Pigs”. Her last feature was 2020’s “Birds Of Prey” (old DCU). since then she has only directed an episode on the final season of HBO’s ‘Succession’. In 2021, Yan was announced to write and direct a sci-fi love story about race and gender set in near future titled “The Freshening” starring John Boyega. no updates regarding that project yet.
