‘Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die’ By Gore Verbinski.
Gore Verbinski is out of the directors jail. Last July, The Oscar winner announced his first film in eight years titled “Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die”. a sci-fi action adventure starring Sam Rockwell, Haley Lu Richardson and Juno Temple. The script was written by Matthew Robinson (Love & Monsters). Verbinski’s Blind Wink Production, 3 Arts Entertainment and Constantin Film are producing the film.
It was announced in February 2024, that Verbinski has set the cast and was moving forward with the film. Sam Rockwell (Jojo Rabbit), Haley Lu Richardson (Split), Michael Pena (Ant-Man), Zazie Beetz (Joker) and Juno Temple (Fargo) were cast to star in the film. Later, Dino Festscher, Georgia Goodman, Ethan Saunders, Mike Gassaway and Conrad Kemp including others were announced to round out the cast.
Premise: The film centers on a man from the future (Rockwell) who arrives at a diner in Los Angeles where he must recruit the precise combination of eclectic patrons (Richardson, Pena, Beetz, Temple) to join him on a one-night quest to save the world.
Verbinski is the director behind the “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise, “The Ring” and “Rango”. The director hit a major career bump when he directed one of the biggest box-office bombs, “The Lone Ranger”, and followed that one up with 2016’s “A Cure For Wellness”. He hasn’t directed a film since. “The Lone Ranger” has gained a cult following in the last few years.
in 2018, Verbinski was going to direct a film centering around Gambit, set within the X-Men universe, but he dropped out of the project. He also had plans to make an animated feature, “Cattywumpus”, which had to do with cats in outer space. The project was previously set up at Netflix but the streamer dropped it.
But Verbinski has come out strong. Following “Have Fun..”, many trades reported that the director has seemingly set up his next movie, titled “Spaceless”. a sci-fi mystery thriller set in space.
North.five.six. is onboard as executive producer and handled the worldwide distribution rights and launched sales at this years EFM (European Film Market) in Berlin. CAA Media Finance and Gersh co-represent the film’s domestic distribution rights.
