Rumored: Barry Keoghan’s Joker being turned into a MAX series.
Some reports are coming from ‘Marvelvision’ podcast. They’re hearing that Barry Keoghan is in talks to return as the Joker, but not in “The Batman: II”, rather as the main villain in “The Batman: Part III”.
More intriguingly, there are rumors that Keoghan’s Joker will also headline a HBO MAX series that builds up to “The Batman: Part III”, very much like Matt Reeves and company did with Colin Farrell’s “The Penguin”. this makes sense, especially considering the success of “The Penguin”, which has been putting up some incredible numbers ever since it’s debut in September.
Keoghan’s Joker shows up near the end of “The Batman” as an unnamed Arkham Prisoner who converses with The Riddler (Paul Dano). There was also a deleted scene from the movie released later that showed The Joker in a longer scene talking with Batman.
Matt Reeves is supposed to shoot “The Batman: Part II” early next year. Robert Pattinson, Colin Farrell, Zoe Kravitz, Jeffrey Wright and Andy Serkis are set to return to the cast. Back in September, Reeves confirmed to Collider that the plan was to turn his ‘Batman’ movies into a trilogy.
After many drafts, the script for the sequel was finally completed in September. No plot details have emerged so far. Reeves is said to be taking his time with this one, and that’s good.
There’s also another Batman movie in works at James Gunn’s DCU, that would be Andy Muschietti’s (IT) “The Brave and the Bold”.
