‘A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms’, ‘White Lotus S3’ & ‘Euphoria S3’ release windows revealed.
Speaking at the Wells Fargo TMT Summit, JB Perrette, (CEO and President of Global Streaming for HBO/Max parent Warner Bros. Discovery), confirmed that the long-gestating “Euphoria Season 3” is targeting a 2026 return. Filming for the third season reportedly starts early 2025.
Perrette also revealed that the third season of the much acclaimed “White Lotus” series set in Thailand will premiere in February. The new cast includes Walton Goggins, Carrie Coon, Michelle Monaghan, Blackpink’s Lisa and Season 1’s Natasha Rothwell.
“The Last Of Us” Season 2, previously announced as coming in Spring 2025, is on target for release. There was a little discrepancy over “A Knight of The Seven kingdoms”, which Perrette mentioned for a summer premiere. Earlier this year, Casey Bloys (Chairman and CEO HBO/MAX Content) had said that the new Westorosi show was projected to debut in late 2025. According to reports, the show is still on track for a late 2025 premiere.
“Our biggest tentpoles started to come back in rotation this summer with “House Of The Dragon 2”, then we go “The White Lotus” which will come in the first quarter, then we have a new “Game Of Thrones” series, smaller scale series, that will come in over the summer” Perrette said. “As we look even beyond that we’ll see the third season of “Euphoria” probably early 2026, then we get back into “House o the Dragon” Season 3, so we’re now in a cadence of having at least 2 or 3 of our major tentpoles every year."
Perrette also revealed some updates regarding the upcoming “Harry Potter” series, which is now casting ahead of a production start next year. The series is targeting a debut in late 2026-2027.
“As you look at ‘26 and into ‘27, you begin a 10-year journey on the “Harry Potter” series, which we’re super excited about, And I’d argue, may be the biggest event by the time we get to that series.”
Amid speculation over Euphoria’s future, Bloys last month confirmed that HBO is moving forward with the long-gestating third season of the Sam Levinson series. “we are shooting the season, I have read the scripts, we’re happy, we’re moving ahead.” so it seems like Levinson has finally cracked the script for season 3, as you might remember, Levinson’s first idea for the season was rejected by HBO, then his second attempt was rejected by Zendaya, and now it looks like they all have settled on a story. “Euphoria” also stars at least 4 major stars today, who are getting a lot of work, so getting them together for a 5-6 month shoot was also a reason for the season’s delay.
