Lynne Ramsay Working On Two Projects; “Stone Mattress” and “Polaris”.
Scottish Filmmaker Lynne Ramsay recently wrapped production on “Die, My Love” starring Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson, which will most likely be released next year.
In fact, it is being reported that Ramsay is already working on her next film, and it could shoot later next month or in early 2025. In a recent interview, Ramsay confirmed that she is already scouting locations for “Stone Mattress”, which she has been developing for a long time and set to star Julianne Moore and Sandra Oh.
Based on Margaret Atwood’s novel, “Stone Mattress” is described as a “revenge thriller” set on a cruise ship, and centering on a cat-and-mouse chase between two women; Moore plays a psychopath “with a clear motive”.
However, Ramsay isn’t stopping there, she has a third film in the works, titled “Polaris”, which already has Joaquin Phoenix attached to star as an “Ahab-figure”. Set in the 1890’s. Phoenix is said to play an ice photographer who meets the devil in Alaska. Ramsay describes the film as “Rosemary’s Baby in the Arctic”. Phoenix also starred in Ramsay’s last film — 2017’s “You Were Never Really Here”, which received raves at Cannes.
